ORGANIC GARDENS For Consciousness Expansion By J.E. Ante

Mankind is a child of the sea and the farther inland he goes the more unhealthy he becomes. So the many micronutrients of the sea become the primary nutrients that must be supplemented in all organic gardens. Various dried kelp meals are the first and only completely necessary ingredient for a successful organic garden for consciousness expansion of the mind, body, and heart.

Kelp meal and the hundreds of micronutrients of the oceans contained in kelp provide the necessary nutrients for perfect plant, animal, and human health. And the micronutrients of the oceans are necessary for natural expanded consciousness of man and the emotions of the heart to develop and grow. Without the complete nutrition of the oceans humanity remains a stunted emotional cripple of growing age-related diseases and limited consciousness.

I think organic gardens are for fools and organic orchards are for the wise man. Organic gardens take a great deal of work, knowledge, and tending but a perennial organic orchard, berry bushes, and herbs take little work and need to be planted only once not yearly. Organic gardens need yearly planting and much work while yielding many below ground food crops that give little to expanded consciousness and emotions of the heart. Below ground crops are best to plant in a survival situation only because they yield a far greater
quantity of food which is also less likely to be harmed by adverse weather conditions and droughts.

Kelp meals, fish emulsions, and green sand are all very good natural fertilizers from the sea and oceans. They and the local natural organic fertilizers can be added to create plant growth. By cultivating perennial plants you do not disturb the soils yearly but simply add back organic fertilizers to the top of the soils to be carried down to the roots by worms, insects, and the rains. This and the fact that permanent mulches can be placed around perennial fruit and nut trees, bushes, and herbs to prevent weeds makes for far less work in your garden orchard.

Most fruit, nut, and berry trees and bushes make use of vertical space and sunlight far better than does a crop of vegetables that grow only knee or waist high. So far more food
crops can be harvested from the more tall growing trees and bushes than from vegetable crops which must regrow both their roots and tops yearly. But of course people will usually want the variety of both vegetable crops and the perennial orchard food crops to grow in their gardens. But I would first make sure the permanent fruit, nut, herbs, and berry bushes are planted first and foremost in your organic garden.

The first and foremost benefactors of your kelp fertilizers will be the worms and insects of the soil. They will become the healthiest varmints in the neighborhood. Then the plants you grow will begin to benefit from the increased soil health and vigor. In a few years time the soil and plants will begin to bear a rich harvest of high quality fruits, nuts, berries, and herbs which you need to feed your own body for perfect health and expanded consciousness of the mind, heart, and spirit. Without this complete health and connections to nature and the oceans you become a stunted and depressed mental zombie of the New World Order economic wage slaves which is the norm on planet Earth today.

The complex emotions of mankind and expanded consciousness need the many hundreds of micronutrients of the oceans to build the complete body and the complete emotions of man. Without it we become depressed ill-healthy humans of despair and ignorance which grows and expands into old-age and death. But life is not a childhood peak of vigor and a
downward spiral to old age and death of Americans today. Life is meant to be a lifelong creative celebration of emotions, love, knowledge and wonder.

One thing that you will notice when gardening with organic kelp meal and other nutrients of the oceans is that wildlife, birds, and bees will tend to feed in your garden, trees, and bushes and compete for the foods growing in your garden. Usually there will be an abundance of foods so sharing will not be a problem for you. But nets are easy to utilize if you need to limit the foraging of animals and birds in your garden. Food plants will usually be far healthier and so pests will not bother them but go elsewhere to feed on unhealthy plants which do not have the natural resistance to insects that healthy plants have.

Domestic dogs and cats which feed off of plants and mice in your garden will
be far healthier. But natural seafood fish type cat and dog foods can greatly increase the health, happiness, and vigor of domestic animals in a few months time and pay for themselves in fewer vet visits.

The self-sufficiency of a perennial orchard of fruits, nuts, berries, and perennial herbs and vegetables is necessary for perfect mental, emotional, and spiritual health and vigor of expanded consciousness. It is a necessary investments which earns far more dividends in a single year than any 401k plan will ever deliver. And your garden will always
be there to care for you and your family for a lifetime of enjoyment and wonder.

Religion vs. Spirtuality

Ok so my status this morning says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. This scripture can be found in Proverbs 18:21 and this is the King James Version. What I wanna speak on is “the secret” and “new age religion or movement”. Most religions have the same basic functions, rules, or laws, but they all have different foundations and the foundation is the most important.

How To Start A Herb Garden Using Organic Garden Fertilizer

By: Mark Etinger
Posted: Mar 11, 2010

]]>

So, you’re always cooking dishes involving plenty of herbs. Roast chicken stuffed with a bacon, celery and parsley stuffing, baked salmon with lemon, potatoes and dill, and pasta with a fresh basil and tomato sauce are some of your favorites.

You pick up your organic herbs at the local farmers’ markets every weekend, but all those bunches are starting to add up. The obvious solution? To start your own organic herb garden, of course. Organic produce is healthy for you and good for the environment because it’s free of harsh chemicals and pesticides – and as a result, it tastes a whole lot better.

Organic herbs are easy to grow, and need little more than good soil, water and organic garden fertilizers, which are often cheaper than chemical fertilizers. Here are a few simple steps to help you establish your organic herb garden.

- Selecting a site – Keep in mind that herbs require a least six hours of sunlight each day. If you want to grow just a few of your favorite herbs, have a few pots of herbs on a sunny windowsill or on the ground. If you want to grow a larger herb garden, think about what size you’ll need and whether you want to combine your herbs with a vegetable patch – but don’t be over-ambitious.

- Choosing soil – Choose soil that is a combination of silt, sand and clay, and make sure you include plenty of organic compost material to help enrich your soil. Make sure your pots or your garden bed drain well.

- Planting – It’s a good idea to plant starter plants rather than seeds so you can see – and eat – the results sooner. It can be tricky to find a nursery that hasn’t treated its starter plants with chemicals, however, so shop around for a good organic nursery.

- Fertilizing – Now and then, add a good dose of organic garden fertilizer or an organic liquid fertilizer to your soil to make it even healthier.

- Watering – Give your plants a little water each day. For outdoor herb gardens, use a watering can, and for indoor herbs, use a mist sprayer to avoid drowning them. A soil moisture tester can be a handy tool to have around if you’re not sure if you’re under- or over-watering your plants.

- Controlling weeds – Combat weeds as soon as they appear. You can easily pull small weeds out of a pot with your fingers, and to remove weeds from a garden, use a sharp hoe.

- Using your herbs – You can use your herbs fresh or dry. To dry herbs in the oven, put them in a moderate oven – around 150 degrees Fahrenheit – for around three hours. To air dry your herbs, tie them up with some string and hang them in a warm, dry, dark place, like a pantry, for about two weeks. Your herbs are dry when the leaves crumble.

It can be very rewarding to establish and maintain an organic herb garden, and by giving them a bit of love and attention, and plenty of organic garden fertilizer – your herbs will be flourishing in no time.

Controlling Pests in your Organic Garden

May 23, 2011

Controlling Pests in your Organic Garden

One of the main concerns of gardeners considering switching to organics is, “How do I control the pests?” The aim of organic gardening is not to eradicate pests, but to make sure your garden’s ecosystem is in balance so plants continue to thrive.

One vital tool in the organic gardener’s toolbox is companion planting. This is where gardeners plant different plants together as they either deter pests by acting as a natural insect repellent, or encourage vigorous growth in the companion plant.

Companion planting works for both herbs and flowers, and if you plant a variety of flowers in amongst your vegetables you will not only have an attractive vegetable garden, but a productive one as well.

There are hundreds of planting combinations however common companion plants include marigolds, garlic and onion. Well known combinations include tomatoes and basil, and parsley and roses.

Soap as a pesticide
Making your own pesticide sprays is easy and cost effective. One of the most versatile sprays can be made with common liquid dish soap, a little fixing oil from your garden center, and water. You simply spray this over your plants and then rinse.

Soap spray is effective in combating common garden pests such as aphids, thrips and spider mites. Make sure when you spray that you also reach the underside of the leaves, the stems and the flowers of your plants. But make sure you only use a few drops of soap per bottle as too much soap can damage your plants.

 Picking off the bugs
One of the best ways of removing the bugs from your organic garden is simply to pick them off before they have a chance to establish. It is best to look for insects when they are most active, which is early morning or dusk. Simply wander around your garden and squash any small bugs you see, such as aphids. Caterpillars, snails and slugs can be removed to other areas of the garden or, if you want to remove them from your garden entirely, then you can drown them in some soapy water.
But remember that there are also beneficial bugs in the garden that you want to keep and encourage, so make sure you don’t remove these by mistake!

Manual Barriers
You can protect your plants from larger insects such as snails and slugs by using physical barriers around your plants. Household items such as crushed shell, coffee grounds or wood ash sprinkled in a continuous ring around your plants will protect them. However make sure there are no gaps.

Other simple remedies such as a saucer of sugar water or half an orange will attract the insects and keep them away from your plants. Replace your organic traps every day or so.

Encouraging helper bugs
Not all insects are bad for your garden. In fact helper bugs are essential to ensure the health of your plants. Beneficial insects feast on the nasties that eat your plants, and should be encouraged as much as possible.

The main beneficial insects for your garden include ladybugs, lacewings and spiders. If you want to get started quickly then you can often buy ladybugs or lacewings through mail order, or from your garden centre.

Spiders (as long as you are not in an area with very unpleasant ones) can be encouraged into the garden through blocks of perennial planting and straw around the garden.

So there are a number of ways you can tackle the nasties in your garden without resorting to chemicals. They key is to be vigilant and keep on top of the problems before they get out of hand, and you have a thriving, healthy garden you and your family can enjoy.

Begin Your Own Organic Garden in the San Diego Area

May 19, 2011

Begin Your Own Organic Garden in the San Diego Area

Starting an organic garden in the city can be a gratifying experience in many ways. As the trend of rising food prices stretches across the globe, the move back to the land is becoming an intelligent and more affordable way to eat well. For San Diego residents who are concerned about caring for their environment and improving the land rather than contributing to its growing deterioration, organic gardening can be valuable towards the preservation of the earth. You may need to make conscious adjustments in your spending habits and daily schedule, but you will swiftly learn to appreciate the compensation that come with raising your own produce.

Whether you are an experienced gardener or just getting started on your first attempt in cultivating the soil, there are some guidelines you should know for beginning any type of organic garden in town. The main technique to gardening organically is learning how to work with nature in its original landscape and weather patterns at your exact plot of land. The problem these days comes in rising above the ways the natural landscape has been disturbed by chemicals and artificial landscaping patterns over the course of several decades. It will take a little extra effort on your part to recondition potentially damaged earth, but nature is usually forgiving and will restore itself to its proper condition as you persist in treating it with TLC.

Plan Ahead to Reduce Your Work and Increase Your Garden’s Production

After years of increased use of fertilizers and pesticides, gardeners have lost the habit of planning in ways that will encourage nature to care for itself. Rather than attempting to take full control of the garden with artificial techniques, the idea is to generate ways that allow the garden to do much of the work itself. As you initiate plans for your natural garden, you will want to pay careful consideration to valuable insects, companion planting practices and the local plants which grow best in the environment and soil condition in this area of Southern California. You should also think about ways that you can attract pollinating insects, butterflies and birds which will discourage the arrival of destructive pests.

One of the most important priorities for creating space where an organic garden can succeed should be in the multiplication of organic matter within the garden. The more organic material you can add to the soil, whether it is compost or another mulching material, the healthier the soil will become and the higher the production of your garden will be in the future. Organic material helps to counteract the effects of damage that has been caused by chemical fertilizers and excess salts that come from chlorinated tap water.

Native California Plants Grow Best in the Autumn Weather

The climate conditions in San Diego are most advantageous for a fall garden, as October usually ushers in the rainy season and cooler temperatures. If you are located in an area of wild lands on the edge of the city, you will want to be sure to protect your garden against possible fire dangers that are common to the area. Clean out dry, flammable, invasive plants and weeds close to or surrounding your garden plot and start gathering everything that can be composted and turned into extra organic material for the nurturing of your land. If it is the autumn season, work in a good amount of organic material into your current garden plots and sow some cool weather crops like broccoli, carrots, peas, cilantro and lettuce. If it is spring, spread a layer of poppy seeds to operate as a ground cover that will also increase the health of your soil for the fall.

Use Organic Garden Fertilizer To Better Improve The Quality Of The Soil And Plants

May 18, 2011

Use Organic Garden Fertilizer To Better Improve The Quality Of The Soil And Plants

Starting your organic garden means that you will be using organic garden fertilizer. By using organic fertilizers, you are able to improve the quality of the soil. In addition, this kind of fertilizer tends to release nutrients which aid the plant to grow better. Some of the best organic fertilizer is not bought at the stores. Also know as “organic gardening compost,” it can come from your household scraps, manure, and decayed plants.

You can even make a large amount of compost and sell it to other gardeners who are not able to make compost. Composting helps maintain a neutral pH and helps the soil hold more nutrients. It also feeds the microbial life present in the soil. This helps and supports the plants in your garden.

The compost is able to generate nutrients and helpful bacteria, which makes a vital contribution. But the process of making the soil healthy is an ongoing process. Aside from improving the water holding capacity of the soil, it encourages the generation of beneficial soil organisms.

Using organic gardening compost can suppress plant diseases and pests. It is also able to promote higher yields of agricultural crops. Many gardeners are using compost in order for their gardens to be healthier. Some use it for general soil improvement. Even if the soil is not able to grow crops, once you are able to add compost, it will regain the nutrients loss in time.

The crops harvested from a garden using organic compost is typically known for having longer lasting plants than crops rose with chemical fertilizers. Your garden is not considered to be an organic garden if you are not using organic garden fertilizers. The result of using compost in your garden is evident in the plants because the plants have more nutrients. Organic compost is also used to prepare your garden for the next round of crops to be planted.

This how-to video by the nonprofit group Kitchen Gardeners International (KitchenGardeners.org ) shows you step-by-step instructions for successful organic composting.

Growing Potatoes at Home ? The Easiest Gardening Method for Growing Organic Potatoes at Home

May 17, 2011

Growing Potatoes at Home ? The Easiest Gardening Method for Growing Organic Potatoes at Home

Growing potatoes at home is an enjoyable experience. And if you want to take the experience to the next level, try growing organic potatoes via ecological organic gardening method (eco-organic).

What I love most about this method is that even a busy freelancer like me can still grow a significant amount of organic vegetables in pretty minimal time.

You see, I’ve been using this method for nearly a year, and I think I’ve only spent about 6 or 7 hours in total, taking care and maintaining my 10 by 10 foot organic vegetable garden.

Note: More in-depth resources including magazine-published article on this subject can be viewed by clicking this link.

If you choose to adopt this method, you’ll probably see and feel the difference in a month or so. I mean seriously, growing potatoes at home along with other vegetables is a lot less demanding if you follow this method.

So, let me tell you a bit more about it…

See, we all know that setting up and maintaining proper care of a vegetable garden can be a tiring affair. Sure, it’s very satisfying to grown your own fresh, organic vegetables, but it requires a lot of effort.

Take potatoes for instance. If you want them to grow well, you have to make sure the soil is moist and loose. Therefore, you need to water frequently and lay organic mulches on the soil.

Also, you need to be careful when using fertilizers for growing potatoes at home. Some fertilizers can negatively affect the tuber shape. And let’s not forget about weeds and pests management…So indeed, a lot of effort is required.

How You Can Save Money At The Grocery 3 Tips To Organic Garden Plan

Have you ever thought about planting your own organic food garden? Imagine getting your children involved with a more healthy way of eating; or saving money at the grocery by not having to buy those overpriced, chemically laced vegetables that they sell.

As you read this article you fill find out what it takes to plan an organic food garden.

As you start planting organic food gardens it’s important to know how the garden will be laid out. The layout of your own garden will depend on what vegetable you want to grow, the planting space and if you would like to opt for companion planting. Here are some helpful tips on how to layout your own garden and start planting vegetables.

Sit Down and Plan

You will need to take the following ideas into consideration when you are planning you garden.

* How much Garden Space do I have to work with?

* What is the Amount of Light in the Space?

* How is the Drainage System in the area?

* What is the Soil made of?

* What Type of Vegetable(s) do I want to plant?

* Will I need Additional Space?

Start your organic garden plan by answering these questions first. Then make a list of vegetables you want to plant and find out the plant requirements of each and compare it with the garden space you have. This should give you an idea of where you want to plant certain vegetables in your space.

Choose your Garden Layout

There are three basic vegetable garden layouts and they are: rows, beds and “potager” style.

The most popular garden layout is the ‘row style garden‘. This, as I am sure you can guess, requires planting seeds in a row.

The ‘bed style garden’ of layout is similar to the rows style but in a smaller level.

This layout allows access to the plant beds from the exterior of the garden or as you walk through the garden path instead of coming from inside of the plant bed.

This is particularly convenient to avoid stepping on the beds which tends to pack in the soil and makes it difficult to dig and aerate in the spring or fall. Plant beds are great ways to maximize a garden space and you can even use raised beds for easy gardening.

The most decorative style of layout is the “potager style garden.” This layout is described as geometric which allows you to layout your garden in circles or arrange plants by color or even food type.

Consider Companion Planting

The idea behind companion planting involves planting different kinds of plants together so that they help each other grow.

A perfect example of this is planting beans, corn and squash together which were commonly done by Native Americans. While the corn gives the beans a place to climb, the beans gives its three companions nutrients in the soil and the squash serves as a shade to the roots of the plants beside it. This not only prevents weeds from growing, it also saves up on water.

Other great plants for companion planting are onions, which scares slugs and aphids away. Tomatoes grow well with basil and carrots as they improve the taste of the tomatoes. Another example is horseradish and potatoes which when planted together give your potatoes protection from disease.
